Security

We utilize trained professionals to assess risk, implement countermeasures and comply with United States Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security requirements.

Sterling’s Texas City plant is located directly on the Port of Texas City waterfront, and is therefore regulated by the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), which is enforced by the United States Coast Guard (USCG). As a result, Sterling meets rigorous security standards, including the delivery of threat awareness training to all plant entrants and the requirement that all people who work unescorted in our facility be in possession of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) after passing a federal criminal background check.
